There will be a separate Family Race at the upcoming District Pinewood Derby this Saturday, 04 February and our Pack may certify for competition two (2) Family Racers to compete ONLY in the FASTEST CAR category.  Participants may be anyone associated with the pack, example: a sibling, den chief, leader, parent, etc.

Scout Sunday will be held on Sunday, 12 February at Parkwood United Methodist Church.  All Pack 495 Scouts are invited and encouraged to attend the morning worship service.  Our Pack will conduct the flag ceremony and act as users for the service.  Please arrive by 10:30AM for a brief flag ceremony rehearsal.  Worship service starts at 11AM.  There will be a reception immediately following in the fellowship hall featuring a collection of Scout memorbilia.  Feel free to bring your old patches, uniforms or Pinewood Derby Cars to display.

The Annual Pack 495 Pinewood Derby was held on Saturday, 21 February at Hope Valley Baptist Church.  The turnout for the event was fantastic and the cars were fast, unique and good lookin'.  Thanks to all the volunteers who helped to make this day a success!

The Blue & Gold banquet is coming up on Saturday, 25 February.  Blue & Gold is one of our biggest events of the year.  All Pack families get together to celebrate the birthday of Scouting and award badges of rank.  Our Arrow of Light candidates will participate in a crossover ceremony as they complete their requirements and become Boy Scouts. 

Pack 495 Unit Commissioner and PUMC member Eddie Hanson received the Award of Merit from the Mawat District at the recent District Awards Banquet.  Pack 495 is in the Mawat District as part of the Occoneechee Council.

Please join us this Thursday at Triangle Presbyterian Church for our January Pack Meeting. 

We will be recognizing everyone who sold popcorn last fall, having a Bobcat badge ceremony and playing Cub Scout Jeopardy.
