2018 Planning Meeting Tuesday the 5th

Posted on Dec 4 2017 - 12:07pm

All Pack parents are encouraged to attend the Spring/Summer planning meeting on Tuesday 05 December in the fellowship hall at PUMC from 7-8:30PM.  We need your ideas to make the upcoming 2018 events fun and exciting.  If you have ever thought "I would like to help the Pack more, but I'm not sure how," then this is the event for you.  We look forward to a fun and exciting Spring season, full of great events for our Scouts and their families. This will also be a time of transition for the Pack as we begin the process of deciding how and when to integrate young ladies into our pack next year.  We need all hands on deck.  If you need to bring your kids, please do so.  We will be showing a movie for them called "Down and Derby."  This is a 90-minute comedy about a Cub Scout Pinewood Derby race where some adults get a little too competitive in building cars for their boys.  Hope to see you all there.

Popcorn Prizes Awarded This Week!

Posted on Nov 27 2017 - 6:51pm

In case you didn’t hear, the popcorn fundraiser went phenomenally! At 7:45PM, den meetings will break and Scouts should report to the fellowship hall for popcorn sales awards, including tickets for the pie-in-the-face winners. The actual pie toss event is being finalized, and will take place in the near future.  A limited number of pies will also be available for purchase on the day of the event, but more on that later…Oh, and don't forget to pick up your popcorn orders this week!

Junk Jam Pack Meeting

Posted on Nov 13 2017 - 4:21pm

Please join us THIS THURSDAY  evening at 6:45 for an amazing time with Junk! The Durham Scrap Exchange is heading our way with a truck load of junk that we will use to make musical instruments, including buckets, tubes, cans, pots, and other fantastic upcycled materials. After our instruments are built, a trained facilitator will lead the Pack in a Junk Jam Session— no musical experience necessary!

Pack 495, we need your help to Clean Up The Creek on Sunday, Nov. 12! We strongly encourage your participation, because this is what Scouts do: give back to the community! Although this is a service event, the Scouts always have a great time getting dirty while cleaning up our waterways. Wear your Pack 495 t-shirt and bring some work gloves. We will see you there!
